Tripura CM contributes one-month salary for flood victims, Rs. 2 cr to be spent from CMRF

Agartala, Aug 26: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday announced that an amount of Rs 2 crore from Chief Minister’s Relief fund would be utilised for providing relief to people affected by the floods in different parts of the state.
He made this announcement soon after Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav declared Rs. 20-crore assistance for Tripura and Kerala each in view of natural calamity.
In the meantime, the Chief Minister contributed his one-month salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for assisting the flood victims.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised him of the current flood situation in Tripura.
According to Dr. Saha, the Prime Minister assured full support to the people of Tripura in this hour of crisis.
"We are extremely grateful to Hon’ble Prime Minister for his kind gesture to the people of Tripura," Dr. Saha mentioned in a social media post.
Earlier on the day, the Chief Minister also spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him the latest situation arising out of the unprecedented flood in the State.
"He assured of the continued all out support to the State Government. He also informed that the Union Government would be sending a team to Tripura immediately to take stock of the situation. Grateful to Hon’ble Home Minister for his instantly coming to the aid of the people of Tripura in this hour of crisis," Dr. Saha wrote on social media.
