Agartala, Aug 28: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha declared monetary assistance for the flood-affected construction workers while Arunachal Pradesh declared aid of Rs. 5 crore for flood-hit Tripura.
The construction workers, who faced hardships due to disruption of income following the recent floods, would get one-time financial assistance of Rs 4,000 each, Dr. Saha announced.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister mentioned that the state government decided to provide assistance to the affected workers to help them cope with the financial strain caused by the recent floods that devastated Tripura.
He said that the floods disrupted their livelihoods for approximately eight consecutive days.
Dr. Saha highlighted the suffering of construction workers, who, like other residents of Tripura, have been severely affected by the floods.
A total of Rs 17,19,24,000 has been allocated for this assistance, which will benefit the 42,981 registered construction workers across the state.
The number of registered workers district wise are- West Tripura District (13,148), Sepahijala District (5,899), Gomati District (5,698), South Tripura district (4,133), Khowai district (4,529), Dhalai District (3,592), Unakoti District (3,861) and North Tripura district (2,121).
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced to give Rs. 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to flood-hit Tripura.
In aid of those affected by the devastating floods in Tripura, Rs.5 crore has been sanctioned from the Arunachal CM's Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to those in need, the Arunachal Pradesh CM wrote on X.
