Tripura CM meets families of two children drowned in Khowai river

Agartala, May 24: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday met the families of two among three children, who drowned in Khowai river recently.
The unfortunate incident occurred on May 21 when three children, Moutushi Das (12), Ankush Nama (7) and Khushi Roy (10) drowned while taking bath in the Khowai river with their grandfather.
As part of his visit to Khowai district, the Chief Minister accompanied by Chief Whip Kalyani Roy extended sympathy to the bereaved families while visiting homes of Moutusi and Khusi at Moharcherra and Char Ganki respectively. He also extended financial support. The other child- Ankush Nama (7) is from Bishalgarh.
During his visit, the Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and directed the concerned officials to ensure that the administration provides all possible government assistance to support them in coming days too.
Speaking with the media, CM Dr. Saha expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident, which has shocked the entire state.
“It was a heart-breaking incident. As I came here to Khowai for the party's program, I have decided to meet the family members who have lost their children. Another child who drowned in the unfortunate accident is a resident of Bishalgharh and I will go there too. We have no words to express about the incident. We also helped them financially but this all can’t bring the children back,” the Chief Minister told the media.
