Tripura CM praises NABARD’s role on its 41st Foundation Day

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday praised the role of National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the state.
Dr. Saha was addressing NABARD’s 41st Foundation Day programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Aaartala.
The Chief Minister said, in our country over 72 per cent of the population lives in rural areas. The country’s development is not possible without development of rural people and with this view, the NABARD is performing well, he said.
Dr. Saha also appreciated the innovative works of NABARD in various segments. At the beginning, the Chief Minister flagged-off a mobile ATM van of Tripura State Co-operative Bank at Rabindra Bhavan premises.
Secretary Finance Brijesh Pandey, general manager of NABARD Loken Das, general manager of RBI Satwant Singh Sahota, chairman of Tripura State Co-operative Bank, chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank Satyendra Singh and other dignitaries were present.
NABARD was established on July 12 in 1982 and is working relentlessly for fostering agriculture and rural development. As the "Development Bank of the nation", NABARD is collaborating with different stakeholders to bring about empowerment of rural communities and foster sustainable and equitable rural development.
The Chief Minister congratulated all the staff and officers of NABARD on the bank’s Foundation Day.
