Tripura CM reviews law & order, asks police to increase conviction rate

Agartala, Sept 30: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday asked the police to work transparently to further increase the conviction rate.
He was addressing the media after reviewing the law and order at police headquarters. Chief Secretary J K. Sinha and DGP Amitabh Ranjan were also present.
The Chief Minister also emphasized regular inspection of police station by senior police officials.
The Chief Minister, followed by the review meeting, also instructed the Tripura Police to identify old unsolved cases, police station-wise, in order to deliver justice to the victims' families.
He also said, when the people visit police stations to seek help or file any complaint, the police must address their concerns properly, including filing appropriate FIR, etc.
The Chief Minister also said that police have been given a free hand for addressing any type of crime and taking action against criminals.
Criminals have no religion, and there will be no compromise with them. Police must work to increase the conviction rate, Dr. Saha said.
