Agartala Jan 02: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday held a heartfelt condolence meeting to pay tribute to the late former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh at the State Congress headquarters.
Marked by solemnity and respect, the Congress leaders and members gathered to honour the memory of the esteemed leader.
During the condolence meeting, the state president of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee moved a condolence resolution. With the unanimous consent of all those present, a condolence message was sent to the family of the late Dr. Manmohan Singh, expressing their deep sorrow and solidarity.
The letter read, “The entire nation is deeply saddened by the sudden demise of our former Prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. His passing away is a great and irreparable loss to the nation. He was the architect of economic reforms in India”.
“He was a visionary statesman and a stalwart of Indian politics. He consistently voiced for the welfare of the marginalized section of people throughout his life. He Played a pivotal role in rebuilding India's economy during hard times. His policy of economic liberalisation and right based welfare paradigm profoundly transformed the lives of crores of Indians below the Poverty line. His Leadership earned admiration and respect cutting across party line”, it added.
The condolence letter further read, “We, on behalf of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, pay our respectful homage to one of the greatest sons of India and convey our heartfelt condolences to the family members of our departed former prime minister. May God grant his soul rest in peace and give his family members the strength to bear the loss”.
At the day’s event, the Congress leaders discussed Dr. Manmohan Singh's illustrious career and political life, highlighting his significant achievements and the lasting impact he had on India's development.
Apart from TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha, former TPCC president Pijush Kanti Biswas, Mahila Congress state president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty among others remained present at the program.
