Tripura Dy CM opens new Badminton Hall

Agartala, Oct 27: Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday inaugurated an indoor badminton hall at his constituency- Charilam.
The new badminton hall constructed by the funds provided under MLA fund is expected to benefit the youths in the area to great extent.
The Deputy Chief Minister said, the state government has been working sincerely to develop sports infrastructures to nurture the talents in rural areas.
He said, equal importance is being laid on development of table tennis and badminton along with cricket, football and gymnastics. The new facilities are also being extended in the rural parts.
The new indoor badminton stadium has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 27 lakh and the project has been implemented by the PWD.
Chairman of Charilam BAC Jaklu Debbarma, Pradhan od Uttar Charilam Gram Panchayat Anjana Sarkar Das and others were present in the inaugural ceremony.
The new facility has been added to the sports infrastructure of Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya stadium (developed through CSR fund of NTPC).
In a social media post, the Deputy Chief Minister, “We want the youth to take part in sports. Khelo Tripura Susto Tripura.”
According to the social media post, he also laid the foundation stone of Charilam Green Motor stand to be powered by solar energy.
