Tripura Govt declares 5% DA for employees

Ending all speculations, finally, the Tripura government on Tuesday announced 5 percent Dearness Allowance for the employees with effect from July 1, 2022.
As per the decision taken in a meeting of the council of ministers, the pensioners and family pensioners would also get 5 percent Dearness Relief, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs announced in a press conference.
He said, the annual expenditure for providing 5 percent DA and DR to the employees and pensioners would stand around Rs. 523 crore.
“The state government needs funds of Rs. 104.76 crore for providing 1 percent DA. As the cabinet decided to provide 5 percent DA, the annual expenditure will be Rs. 523.80 crore,” Chowdhury told the reporters adding that the decision would benefit employees and pensioners in large numbers.
“Today the state government declared DA of 5 per cent for the different categories of government employees. The government has come forward for the benefit of govt. employees even in these difficult times. We will always try to give them benefits as much as we can taking into consideration different factors. Inspired by Sri Modij ji”, Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma wrote on social media.
Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar also hailed the decision and congratulated Dr Manik Saha-led cabinet.
"I welcome the decision of GoT, led by CM Dr. Manik Saha Ji of increasing 5% DA for state Gov't employees and pensioners. Yearly approximately ₹523 cr extra will be spent to fulfill this requirement. Best wishes to all the employees, together let's work earnestly for the development and welfare of Tripura," Deb commented on social media.
