Tripura Govt mulls setting up Homeopathic Medical College: CM

Agartala, May 04: The state government is contemplating a plan to setting up Homeopathic Medical College in the state, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Thursday.
He was addressing the state-level orientation of Ayush CHOs on Homeopathic Health Care of Mother and Child at Rabindra Satabarsiki Bhavan.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ensuring healthcare to all, the state government is improving the health infrastructure at every level, Dr. Saha said.
According to the Chief Minister, along with Allopathy and Ayurvedic treatment procedures, homeopathy is also effective for health safety of all sections including mothers and children. He said, the state government is working with a multi-faceted plan to expand Homeopathy under Ayush services.
The Chief Minister criticized the role of the then left front government for injecting politics in the health system.
During the program, Dr. Debabrata Bharati, eminent Homeopathic doctor of the state, was honored with the Life Time Achievement Award. Some other renowned Homeopathy doctors were also felicitated.
Dhalai District, North Tripura District and Gomati District were felicitated for 100 percent success in vaccination. Besides, several health facilities including Manubazar Rural hospital were awarded.
Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Basu, Director Dr. Subhashis Debbarma, Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicines Dr. Supriya Mallik and National Health Mission, Tripura director Shubashis Das were present.
