'Tripura highest growing state in the East'

New Delhi, Aug 27: Tripura has emerged as the highest growing state in the Eastern Region among households with an annual income of Rs 5 lakh and above.
While Jharkhand took the pride of place in the Central Zone, Bengaluru Urban and Hyderabad districts were found to be the top two leaders with the highest score across all 788 districts.
Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh were among the fastest growing states in the North, according to a report by MapmyIndia-backed data analytics firm ClarityX.
It noted that 60 per cent of households with annual income above Rs 5 lakh are in the top 20 per cent (about 150) districts of India and pointed out that the number of districts in India has grown to 788 across 36 states in 2023 from 723 districts in 2019.
Socio-economic indicators like income distribution, social impetus like healthcare, education facilities per capita, infrastructure availability, financial activities like banking coverage, etc were taken into account while measuring the growth of districts.
