Tripura: IMD predicts heavy shower in all districts

Agartala June 16: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in all eight districts of the state for the next three days.
The Agartala Centre of Met in a weather report said, an eastwest trough runs from northwest Uttar Pradesh to Assam across Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim at mean sea level. Moisture incursion is very likely to continue due to strong lower level Southerly/ Southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to Northeast India during 15-18 June 2022.
Under its influence, widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms/lightning/ heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely to continue over northeastern states including Tripura till June 18 next.
As per the IMD report, heavy rains may cause water logging in low lying areas, there are possibilities of damage to vulnerable structures and lightning may strike people and cattle at open places.
The IMD asked the people to avoid going to areas that face water logging problems often and staying in vulnerable structures.
