Agartala, July 07: The Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress on Thursday staged a protest in the city against the rising inflation and the prices of essential commodities and fuel going out of the common man’s reach.
The protest organised infront of the Agartala Congress Bhawan led by party activists Lakhi Nag blamed the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that the government completely failed to govern for the price rise of essential commodities.
“The price of LPG cooking gas cylinder is yet again hiked for the fourth consecutive time in a year by Rs. 50 per 14.2 kg cylinder, which perhaps is triggering fire in the kitchen of the homemakers,” she said, adding that the price of essential commodities including medicines, petrol diesel and edible oils is soaring to go out of the reach of the common people and especially the poor section.
The Mahila Congress activists demanded the government to bring a control over the price hike and rescue the common people of the state and the country as a whole from hefty burden.
