Tripura, other NE states see progress following PM Modi’s development initiatives: MoS

Agartala, Jan 08: Tripura among north-eastern states made remarkable progress over the past 10 years following the development initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil.
The MoS, who reviewed various works under the Panchayati Raj department at the state guest house in Agartala on Monday, expressed his satisfaction over the development that came from the central schemes and sincere efforts of the state government in various fields.
He also spoke about Tripura’s remarkable performance in implementing Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana and REGA. He also lauded the ‘Amar tripura’ portal introduced by the state government.
Speaking to the media, the MoS highlighted the scheme- SVAMITVA: Survey of Villages Abadi & Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas. The scheme aims to provide an integrated property validation solution for rural India. He said, the state government has already undertaken initiatives to implement the scheme.
According to an official press note, the Union Ministry of Rural Development sanctioned as many as 4.12 lakh houses for Tripura and construction of 3.15 lakh houses has already been completed. An amount of Rs. 4,528 crore has so far been spent under this scheme in the state including Rs. 2,781 crore in the last 18 months.
The press note also stated, as many as 4,66,879 women have been involved in 51,412 Self Help Groups under Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM). Besides, 2,131 Village Organizations and 108 cluster level federations have also been formed.
Earlier on the day, the Union Minister virtually joined the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra event, which included an address and interaction with beneficiaries, led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was accompanied by Panchayati Raj state director Prasun Dey and other officials.
Meanwhile, the MoS paid courtesy visits to Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in the evening.
