Tripura Panchayat polls: Newly elected members take oath in Kumarghat

Kumarghat, Aug 27: The swearing-in ceremonies for the newly elected representatives in the recently concluded Tripura three-tier panchayat elections began on Tuesday.
In the first phase, oath-taking events were held across nine Gram Panchayats under Kumarghat Block in Unakoti District, including Rajnagar, Gokulnagar, Taruninagar and Kanchanbari.
Government officials administered the oaths to the newly elected representatives.
In Rajnagar Gram Panchayat, the Public Works Department official Chintu Debbarma administered the oath to the elected members, with Pritam Biswas taking oath as the Pradhan and Subrata Das as the Upa-Pradhan.
The BJP-backed members pledged to work for the development of the village.
Unakoti Zilla Parishad member Amolendu Das, Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti member Suparna Da and local panchayat officials attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Amolendu Das expressed hope that the newly elected representatives would work together for village development and the state's growth, ensuring government support reaches the people.
