Earlier, on January 13, 2023 Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman had approached the IPFT to form an alliance with the TIPRA Motha in view of the ensuing polls.
On Wednesday, in a letter addressed to the Chairman, TIPRA Motha, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, working president IPFT, Prem Kumar Reang who is also a minister in the state cabinet, urged for fixing a date to hold talks .
The letter read, “I an writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude for proposal to ‘unite IPFT and TIPRA in any form’ for solving the question of survivability and existence of the Tiprasa with an endeavor of achieving our demand for Tipraland and Greater Tipraland State”.
Expressing the desire for a meeting with Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, Prem Kumar Reang further wrote, “I welcome the opportunity to meet with you personally to discuss a broad range of discussions of common interest of both the parties. Please, fix date, time and venue as per your convenience and availability”.
Earlier in his proposal for unity, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma mentioned, “Our demand is not different but it is the same, which seeks a permanent constitutional solution for the indigenous people of the state. And we cannot have a consideration of any other issues sacrificing the Tiprasas’ existence. Let the Tiprasas survive and exist first under the protection of ‘Tipraland’ state or ‘Greater Tipraland’ state”.
According to political analysts, Pradyot’s Motha is considered to have significant sway among the tribal seats and the elections will be a tough fight for the opposition political parties as well as the ruling BJP that is striving hard to get re-established to power.
