Tripura Polls: CPIM Cadres beaten up, arrow of allegations against BJP

Agartala Feb 04: With the crucial assembly elections on cards, sporadic incidents of violence are reported from several areas across Tripura.
In a matter of grave concern, the incidents of attacks on party offices, party activists and supporters are reported when the State Elections Commission claims to have deployed adequate number of security forces to prevent such untoward situations.
Friday night, CPIM cadres identified as Pritam Neogi and Chandra Shekhar Roy were brutally beaten up by gang of miscreants.
The arrow of allegations has been raised towards the BJP after injured CPIM workers identified the miscreants and lodged a written complaint with Belonia Police Station.
According to details, both the CPIM activists were standing in front of Shaheed Bedi at Braj Colony area under Hrishyamukh assembly constituency when suddenly miscreants owing allegiance to BJP came out from the party office and stated beating up the CPIM cadres with rods and sticks.
Noticing the entire incident, locals rushed to rescue and informed the Belonia Police Station. Police personnel hurried to the spot and took the injured CPIM workers to the local hospital.
The injured alleged that the BJP backed miscreants suddenly attacked them without any intimidation.
Local Left leaders have strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits.
