Agartala Nov 10 : Amidst overwhelming enthusiasm, the All Tripura Mega Quiz-2024 of the Tripurainfo.com was conducted successfully at the Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala on Sunday. Spontaneous participation, wonderful knowledge-skills and a day-long electrifying mood were the hallmarks of the Mega Quiz programme. Several distinguished persons including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Justice of the High Court of Tripura Arindam Lodh, minister Sushanta Chowdhury and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also enjoyed today’s infotainment.

The event started with a screening test to shortlist the teams consisting of two participants in each team. As the participants in the screen test were anxiously waiting for the result to take part in the main round of the quiz competition, the organizers came up with an audience round and threw questions.

The audience round was marked by a striking performance of school children, college students and their parents. A typical science-based question on Schrodinger’s cat experiment revealed the depth of knowledge of school and college students. It was not just high-level knowledge, a girl student after giving the right answer on music also sang the song confidently on stage receiving a big round of applause.     

As the day-long main round of the quiz started, teams were engaged in an intense contest of knowledge, passion and intelligence. The final round started with five teams after other teams were eliminated. While the teams were busy getting points, the audience awaited their turn to win lucrative prizes.

In a wonderful gesture, the organizer – Tripurainfo.com – recalled three eminent personalities of the State who were closely associated with the organizer but recently passed away. A one-minute silence was observed in the memory of Retd IGP Arindam Nath, eminent entrepreneur Kanak Jain and noted business personality Sujon Krishna Roy.

In the memory of an avid cricket lover, Kanak Jain, a question relating to cricket was thrown at the audience. A student stood up and confidently replied to the answer to win a cash prize of Rs 5000. A boy from the audience boldly took a question of hospitality and won a prize to stay at the five-star Polo Towers in Agartala one night.

Finally, Chirag Majumder and Dikshit Biswas clinched the top spot. Parthapratim Bhattacharjee and Pritam Gosh came in second while Sakhyar Dutta Majumder and Anirban Kar secured the third position.

Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha hailed the initiative of the Tripurainfo.com and encouraged the contestants. He said, “The quiz program is filled with a variety of questions on knowledge and science. Every year this event  attracts inquisitive minds of all ages. Tripura Info Mega Quiz, the state's most popular quiz competition, has completed 19 years this year”.  

Addressing the audience and participants, Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also praised the organizers for successful conduct of the quiz programme every year. He urged the students and youths to collect knowledge beyond formal education and look closely into the emerging global and national issues like unemployment.

Talking about the objective of Tripurainfo Mega Quiz, Sekhar Dutta, Chief Editor of tripurainfo.com,  said that the objective of the tripurainfo mega quiz  event is to provide a platform to the people including youths and students for knowledge gathering and information sharing for intellectual stimulation as also for constructive entertainment through daylong quiz.
