Agartala, May 29: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who attended Chief Minister’s conclave in Delhi on Sunday, said there were discussions on 11 points including progress of the welfare schemes.
Speaking to the media at the civil secretariat on Monday, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the Chief Ministers’ conclave where he highlighted the state’s achievements in implementation of various schemes.
He said, in case of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Urban, the state’s success rate is 73 per cent in the last six months-- the central government has sanctioned 82,217 houses during this period and construction of 57,040 houses has already been completed.
Similarly, the success rate in PMAY-Rural is 91.19 percent. The expenditure was Rs. 1300 crore and 1,79,989 people were benefitted, Dr. Saha said.
He then spoke on the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission. The achievement so far is 62.14 percent and remaining works are expected to be completed by December 2023.
According to the Chief Minister, the state’s achievement in implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme is 94.62 per cent. He also spoke on the implementation of various other schemes including Kisan samman Nidhi, Gram Sadak Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Scheme and Atal Pension Yojana.
The Chief Minister said, in the meeting, emphasis was laid on GST collection. He said, the state government would take strict initiative on collection of GST.
The Chief Minister also elaborated on the initiatives taken for women empowerment. He cited 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs, formation of an all-women battalion in Tripura State Rifles and activities of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Meanwhile the Chief Minister also spoke on the issues discussed in the NITI Aayog meeting held in Delhi.
Dr. Ssaha, who also attended inauguration of the new Parliament building, said materials from four states—stones from Rajasthan, wood from Maharashtra, carpet from Uttar Pradesh and bamboo tiles from Tripura were used in construction of the new Parliament.
