Two Bihari youths arrested with 61kg ganja

Agartala May 06: Agartala Railway Police apprehended two individuals on Sunday night in connection with the smuggling of a significant quantity of dry cannabis.
The suspects; Dipak Kumar (20) and Bhushan Roy (21) were arrested after a vigilant operation by the Agartala GR Police.
According to OC Tapash Das, the police had received prior information about the transportation of a large amount of ganja via train. In response, a specialized team, including Agartala GR Police, was formed to monitor the situation closely at Agartala Railway station.
The police acted on suspicion when they noticed two persons entering the station through the parcel office, pushing two large trolleys. Upon searching the trolleys, they discovered 61 kg of dry cannabis. The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is approximately Rs 50,000.
Dipak Kumar and Bhushan Roy, both hailing from Bihar, had arrived in Tripura just 4-5 days before their arrest. They have been produced before the court on Monday and are currently under police remand for further investigation, said OC Tapash Das.
