Two jawans of the state were martyred in a landslide

Charilam/Kalyanpur, July 02: Two Territorial Army Jawans from Tripura died in Manipur’s landslide. Resident of Bishalgarh, Sanjoy Debnath, and resident of Kalyanpur Kuchpara, Prashanta Deb died after a massive landslide in Manipur on Wednesday night.
As per reports, The landslide occurred on Wednesday night at the Territorial Army Camp near the Tupul yard railway construction site. The death count due to a massive landslide at a Territorial Army Camp in Manipur's Noney district has increased to 29, officials said on Saturday. The dead includes 20 jawans. So far, 13 personnel of the Territorial Army and five civilians have been rescued, while thirty-four people are still missing, officials said.
According to the family members of deceased Sanjoy Debnath, they lost his contact since June 28 and on Saturday morning received the news of Sanjoy's death.
On the other, although deceased Prashanta Deb’s original home is in Kuchpara village of Kalyanpur, his family lives in Arundhutinagar area of capital city Agartala. Martyr Prashanta is survived by wife and daughter. Kalyanpur MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury expressed deep grief over the death. Additional Superintendent of Police Amitabh Pal said they had not yet received any clear information.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb expressed their deep condolences to the bereaved families.
