Agartala, Oct 01: Udichi club of Agartala Banamalipur, which was earlier accused of forceful collection of puja subscription, on Tuesday announced that the administration has granted permission for the club to organise Durga puja this year.

Earlier, in response to the allegation of forceful collection of puja subscription from a family recently, the district administration had disallowed the puja organising committee of the club from doing puja this year.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala on Tuesday, the club president Subir Debbarma said, “A misunderstanding occurred with some members of our club and a family in the area regarding this year's Durga Puja. In this context, on September 28 last, a joint discussion meeting was organized between the club authorities and the said family under the chairmanship of the Corporator of Ward No. 24 of Agartala Municipal Corporation. Through discussion in the meeting this unfortunate misunderstanding was resolved and mutual amity developed.”

“Durgotsav of Udichi Club will be successful with everyone in a joyful atmosphere and the club authorities will be vigilant to maintain peace and harmony in the area,” he hoped.
