Belonia, Mar 19: With the initiative of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar College, a district-level event entitled Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 was held at the college premises on March 18 and 19.

The event aimed to engage youth in discussions on “One Nation, One Election” as part of the central government’s initiative.

Out of 1,313 video submissions through the My Bharat portal, 150 participants were shortlisted by NSS Program Officers, with 10 students selected for the state-level round. 

The winners from the state event will proceed to the national-level session at Parliament House in New Delhi.

Inaugurating the event, South Tripura Zilla Parishad Chairman Deepak Dutta highlighted its significance, while ICV College Principal Dr. Manoranjan Das, Belonia Municipal Chairman Nikhil Chandra Gopr and other dignitaries were present. Participants presented arguments for and against the One Nation, One Election policy.
