West Agartala Police detains two illegal Bangladeshi entrants

Agartala Aug 31: Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by West Agartala Police personnel on Friday night from City Center area of the state capital for illegally entering into the Indian territory.
Providing the details of the arrests, West Agartala PS Officer in-charge Paritosh Das said, “On August 29, 2024, we detained one illegal Bangladeshi entrant named Suman, resident of Narayanganj in Bangladesh from Lankamura area. Registering a case under specific sections of BNS, we produced him before the court seeking police remand”.
“During interrogation, Suman revealed few other names who have crosses the Indo-Bangla borders illegally”, he added.
Based on the information, police apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals, Rafiq Shiekh and Ajim Uddin from City Centre area who were living in Agartala for past few days and city center, and entered through the Sonamura borders.
Both the detainees were produced before the Court on Saturday seeking police remand.
