Agartala, Apr 18: The West Tripura Parliamentary constituency is all set for polling on Friday amid tight security arrangements.
In West Tripura, the total number of electorates is 16,63,526—7,34,133 males, 7,29,337 females and 56 third genders.
The polling parties and security personnel have already been dispatched on Thursday for their respective destinations. The voting will commence at 7 am in all the venues
According to official sources, 391 polling stations in West Tripura seat have been identified as vulnerable and 171 polling stations identified as critical.
A total of 793 polling stations are there in this constituency. The figure included 58 women-run polling stations, 7 Divyang-managed polling stations and 28 model polling stations.
Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura Puneet Agarwal along with Returning Officer of West Tripura Parliamentary constituency Dr. Vishal Kumar inspected the preparedness and disbursal centre at Umakanta Academy on Thursday.
The CEO appealed to all the voters to take part in the festival of democracy without any worry.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has taken various initiatives to increase maximum participation of voters in the upcoming festival of democracy.
Besides, initiatives are being taken to ensure zero violence. As part of such efforts, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura also launched ‘Mission Violence Free Election 2024’ at PRTI, A.D. Nagar.
