Teliamura, Jan 05: A 20 years old tribal woman of Teliamura subdivision gave birth in an ambulance while being transported to Agartala GBP Hospital on Sunday morning.

The incident took place in the National Highway at Khoyerpur area after the woman – Jaisthalaxmi Debbarma of remote village in Teliamura gave birth to her child. She was being transported to Agartala GBP Hospital from Teliamura sub divisional hospital.

Reportedly, the pregnant woman Jaisthalaxmi Debbarma was admitted to Teliamura sub divisional hospital on Sunday morning, where the concerned doctor refused to do her delivery and referred her to Agartala GBP Hospital. Soon after reaching Khoyerpurarea with acute labor pain, the 20 years old mother managed to give birth to her child with the help of the ambulance driver Narayan Biswas.

There have been repeated complaints of negligence by the doctors in Teliamura sub divisional hospital. On Sunday morning, the negligence of the concerned doctor in the hospital forced Jaisthalaxmi Debbarma to travel through the ambulance, following which she had to give birth to her child before her situation worsened.
