Agartala, Jan 16: A day long workshop on familiarization of police salary package scheme was held here at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on Thursday as part of the observance of Tripura Police Week.

Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan accompanied by the senior police officers were present in the workshop to encourage the police forces toward availing the scheme, which aims to provide financial support to them.

In the workshop, the DGP said that the objective of the scheme is to provide benefits to police officers and jawans, such as free unlimited transactions at ATMs, discounts on loans, and other financial benefits.

He said that in addition to the government aided benefits, the police officers and jawans can avail the benefit, which is very needful and beneficial for them, for which some major financial institutions have come forward to provide massive financial support to the police personnel.

The police salary package also comes with a high medical benefit for the police personnel, he said, adding that one just needs to open a bank account free of cost to avail the benefit. He said that police salary packages are important because they provide a range of benefits to police officers and their families, including financial security, medical coverage, and other perks.
