Agartala Jan 20. The Agartala office of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has organized one day workshop for capacity building of Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL) for phase two in Tripura to give an idea on functions of RBI, overview of CFL project and financial inclusion, features of ADEPT portal and ADEPT-CFL module and behavioral aspects during programme on financial literacy camp.
The programme was organized here at Pragna Bhanan today where a total of about fifty officials from different districts across the state Tripura are attending the workshop. The company called Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL) has been implementing the CFL project in Tripura with the financial support of NABARD where PNB is a sponsoring bank to provide funds for financial literacy activities in Tripura to BAPCL. The company BAPCL has been selected by the RBI Agartala Office in order to implement the CFL project in Tripura.
Manoj K. Moon, AGM of RBI Agartala Office, Argha Banerjee, Manager, Aparup Chowdhury, Chirantan Dutta, Assistant Manager of RBI Agartal, Manoj Kumar Kulkarni, Manager of RBI and other officials attended the workshop. The lectures on different subjects associated with RBI functions, RBI’s policy on financial literacy, target groups, overview of CFL, financial planning, removing mental barriers, account opening, KYC, bank deposit and other related issues are discussed by RBI officials in the workshop.
Farukul Islam, state coordinator of CFL project has said the training given in workshop today by RBI is really helpful for the benefit of officials appointed by BAPCL for the implementation of CFL project in order to enhance skill on financial literacy related activities.
Sudip Majumder, MD of BAPCL, Sanjib Dey, BoD of BAPCL, Kiran Bhowmik, PhD scholar of Economics Department, Tripura University and Advisor of BAPCL are attending the workshop.
In connection with the CFL project, a total of ten offices under all the districts already established by BAPCL in accordance with the guidance of RBI are to be regulated by a total of forty five officials in Tripura, said Sudip Majumder, MD of BAPCL.
