Agartala Dec 08: State- level Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas will be observed in Tripura on December 11 next.
Chief minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the program at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.
Detailing those in a press conference Special secretary Education Department Ravel Hemendra Kumar said, “As per decision of the Ministry of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Government of India, December 11, birth anniversary of Tamil poet and freedom fighter C Subramanya Bharati will be celebrated as Indian Language Day, every year”.
The special secretary said that this program is mainly for the purpose of learning about each other's language and encouraging this among the youth.
“With other parts of the capital city, initiatives have been taken to organize various programs at school, district and state level. These include online essay competitions, talk shows on Indian Language Day, booklet releases, multilingual cultural programs, district-wise programs”, he said.
He said that AICTE has developed a language translation application tool called ANUVADINI on the occasion of the celebration of Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas.
“This application tool will help to translate different languages”, he added.
The Special Secretary also said that different programs are scheduled to be organized at different times based on language.
Director Higher Education Department NC Sharma was also present at the press conference.
