Our Heritage & Ethos

In the making of a new nation, at times before our statehood, words of our needs and cry of wants were somewhere lost in translation in its travel to distant Delhi. Our Founder Editor, Late Apanshu Mohan Lodh established the First English Newspaper in the State, Tripura Times in 1960 as a clarion call from this remotest corner of the country, with a vision to champion the true mirror of state of affairs.

Started as a weekly newspaper, it has today evolved into the largest circulated English daily Newspaper in the state. In its 64+ years of journey, it has time and again re-affirmed its ethos and never let sensationalism out-shine sense.

Our pride has been our team of journalists over the years, to which we have added many venerable names, and a dedicated network of reporters which runs through the length and breadth of the state to bring news from the very grassroots of our society to our readers.

tripuratimes.com is our digital flagship to ease the flow of latest breaking news and developing events to our substantial global reader base, alongside features, editorial opinions, investigative columns, and photo stories.

Tripura Times is a Proprietorship organisation, wholly owned and managed by Avishikta Lodh, M.Tech, Jadavpur University.
