Agartala Jan 14: A devotee, who went to the ongoing Sankranti Mela at Tirthamukh along with his friends, died of a cardiac arrest on Sunday morning.

The incident took place after the 42 years old Sanatan Sarkar and his friends went out of their house on Saturday noon to visit the Tirthamukh mela and after spending a night in the mela, Sarkar and his friends climbed to the stairs to see the Gomati Hydel Project.

According to the report, soon after climbing the stairs Sanatan Sarkar fell ill and lied on the ground in the presence of his friends. Alarmed by the incident the security guards and police rushed to him and brought him down.

He was rushed to the nearby health centre, where the doctors declared him dead. According to the doctors, he died of a cardiac arrest. The incident triggered panic among the friends and family members.
