101 years old Rajkumari Das is among oldest to vote in LS poll

Agartala, April 18: At a time when the state of Tripura along with the rest of the parts of the state was bracing for the crucial 18th Lok Sabha election, the state election commission in accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the first initiated home voting to ease the elderly citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the state.
Meet 101 years old Rajkumari Das of Kunjaban under Kalyanpur Pramodnagar assembly constituency, who among the oldest voters had cast her vote from her home and expressed her joy and happiness with the initiative of the election commission.
This year a total of 222 elderly voters of Kalyanpur Pramodnagar assembly constituency had cast their votes for the 18th Lok Sabha election from their home. The voters were witnessed to have expressed their joy and thanked the election commission for the initiative of home voting.
As part of this initiative, the home voting was held in other parts of East Tripura ST-reserved seat as well as in 27-Kalyanpur Pramodnagar assembly constituencies during the two days of April 17 and 18.
