Agartala, Mar 6: The first National Lok Adalat of the year in Tripura will be held on March 8 next. 

The Lok Adalat will take place at the Tripura High Court, district courts and sub-divisional court premises. 

A total of 21,247 cases will be taken up across 42 benches, including 340 motor accident compensation cases, 3,509 bank loan disputes, 1,245 BSNL bill-related cases, 15,815 compoundable criminal cases, 260 matrimonial disputes, 52 cheque bounce cases, 10 consumer cases, 8 service-related cases and 5 civil disputes.

Notices have already been sent to concerned parties and pre-conciliation is ongoing at district and sub-divisional legal service offices. 

Para-legal volunteers will assist attendees and Member Secretary of Tripura State Legal Services Authority, Jhuma Dutta Chowdhury, has urged people to take advantage of this free and speedy dispute resolution process.
