Agartala, Feb 26: Acting on a tip off police of Agartala GR Police Station on Tuesday nabbed a 24 years old Bangladeshi woman from Agartala Railway station illegally crossing the border.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Agartala GR police station Tapas Das informed that the Bangladeshi woman identified as Jasmine Khatun was about to travel to Kolkata from Agartala railway station for work purposes. Acting on a tip off, police detained the woman for illegally crossing the border, he told reporters.

He further informed that the Bangladeshi woman was later produced for the court on Tuesday for the legal proceedings. Police is further interrogating her to unearth if more people are involved with her, he said, adding that a specific case has been registered against her with the GR Police station.

“We are taking lawful action against the infiltrators accordingly and the police of GRP along with other agencies are closely monitoring the illegal infiltration,” he added.
