Agartala, Oct 20: The council of ministers cleared recruitment in 28 posts, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury announced on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at the civil secretariat, Chowdhury said, the 28 posts included 8 posts of Food Safety Officers under the Health department and 18 posts of Junior Computer Assistants under the Election department.
In case of Food Safety Officers, the selection has been done through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPCS) earlier but the appointments couldn’t be given due to a procedural delay. Now, the appointments would be given by the next one week, Chowdhury said.
Under the Election department, 18 posts of Junior Computer Assistant would be filled up through direct recruitment, he said, adding that Madhyamik passed candidates having one year Diploma on Computer and experience in data entry works (Bengali and English) may apply for the jobs.
Speaking to the media, the ICA minister said the state government already announced recruitment of 6067 Special Executives on contract basis. The cabinet modified the eligibility criteria; now, the Madhyamik passed candidates would have the opportunity to apply through their respective police stations.
Their honorarium would be Rs. 11,000 for every special executive and the Finance department already gave approval, he said, adding that it would cost Rs. 82 crore annually.
He said, the cabinet also decided that recruitment of engineers in various departments including PWD would now be conducted through Combined Competitive Examination of TPSC. Earlier, the government used to recruit engineers as per Tripura Engineering Service.
Chowdhury also said, the council of ministers cleared another proposal for amendment of Tripura Health Services.
He said, the number of General Duty Medical Officer Cadre would be increased from 1480 to 2170 and the 690 increased posts would be divided into two categories- Specialist and Super-specialist. In case of recruitment of Specialists, the qualification is MD, MS or DNB while for Super-specialist, the qualification is DM or MCH. According to Chowdhury, it is a landmark decision for Health sector.
He also said, the cabinet approved constitution of Health Selection Committee for different direct Recruitment in technical posts (Group-B,C and D). Additional Secretary of Health department and MD NHM would be the chairman of the six-member committee.
In another decision, the cabinet approved amendment of Recruitment Rules for Dental Technicians. Now, the Higher Secondary (Science) passed candidates having Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects can apply.
The cabinet also decided that nutritious foods would be provided to the pregnant and lactating mothers (6 months to 3 years) under 24 ICDS projects. The Social Welfare and Social Education department would implement the pilot project for three months, Chowdhury added.
Secretary of ICA department Pradip Chakraborty also attended the press conference.
