Dharmanagar, Feb 11: Biswabandhu Sen, Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA from Dharmanagar, lodged a complaint against a person for spreading false information against him.
Speaking to the media at the party office in Dharmanagar, he said, a clash between two groups BMS created a sense of unrest in parts of North Tripura district. In such a situation, one person—reportedly BMS leader— made some indecent remarks against Sen.
He further added, "As the Speaker, I could have consulted the board committee and taken legal action through the Assembly. However, I chose not to do so. Instead, after discussions with Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, I have filed a case against the accused, Ashim Dutta, at Dharmanagar police station."
Responding to the allegations, Sen further said that he always worked for the development of the state, especially for the progress of Dharmanagar.
BJP’s North Tripura district president Kajal Das, Mandal president Shyamal Nath, chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Mitali Das Sen, vice-chairperson Manju Nath and other leaders were present in the press conference.
