40-foot Saraswati idol set to dazzle Basant Panchami celebrations

Agartala, Jan 31: In a grand initiative by Ward No. 40 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, a towering 40-foot Saraswati idol is being crafted for this year’s celebrations. Renowned artisans from Kolkata’s Kumartuli are preparing the massive idol, adding an artistic touch to the much-anticipated festival.
During a press conference on Friday, former councilor Jayanta Chowdhury shared details about the event. The celebrations will span seven days, starting with the inauguration of the grand pandal by Chief Minister Manik Saha on January 2, next. The festivities will include cultural programs, food stalls, and various attractions to enhance the celebratory atmosphere.
On January 3, next devotees will be served Mahaprasad, and throughout the week, multiple cultural performances will be held, showcasing local and regional talent. The organizers have urged people from all walks of life to visit the pandal and witness the grandeur of this year’s Saraswati Puja. The celebrations will conclude on January 9, next.
