Agartala, Feb 01: With the initiative of SCERT, the 51st State Level Children’s Science Exhibition is scheduled to be held at MTB Girls' HS School, Agartala on February 2 and 3.
The exhibition aims to promote science and mathematics education for the long-term sustainable development of the country’s self-reliance, socio-economic and environmental goals, said Special Secretary , Department of Education, Ravel Hemendra Kumar in a press conference today.
He said that the theme for the initiative is “Science and Technology for Social Welfare”, which includes five other themes: health, agriculture, communication and transport, environment-friendly lifestyle, computational thinking, etc.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday.
On the eve of the exhibition, a rally was organized in Agartala with the active participation of students from various schools. The rally commenced from Umakanta English Medium School and ended at Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ HS School.
During the two-day exhibition, there will be discussions on awareness about millet foods, science and environment and quiz competitions.
A total of 40 models will be presented in this exhibition, with 5 students and associate students selected from each district of the state. The best 10 projects from among them will be sent to the central level (NCERT, New Delhi) along with videos. From among these, NCERT, New Delhi will select the participants for the 2024 National Science Exhibition.
The inaugural ceremony of the “51st State Level Children’s Science Exhibition” will also witness the release of a souvenir titled “Kanad”. The program will conclude with the distribution of prizes.
