Accreditation for more journalists in Tripura soon: ICA minister

Agartala, Aug 02: The Tripura cabinet on Tuesday approved amendment of Tripura Media Representative Accreditation Guidelines- 2022.
Briefing the media on cabinet decisions, Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury said, the government already took various media-friendly decisions including health insurance coverage for accredited journalists.
“To implement the health scheme, the amendment has been approved,” he said.
He said, there are around 178 accredited journalists in the state while the government decided to give accreditation to more journalists; applications have already been received from various media houses.
As per the new guidelines, the guidelines for issuing accreditation would be simplified further, he said, adding that the health policy would be implemented once the accreditation process gets over.
The ICA minister also stated, as desired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, every department would give information on latest developments and achievements through press conferences on a regular basis.
Besides, the cabinet decided to bring an additional 20000 hectares area under paddy cultivation under Integrated Crop Management (Mukhyamantri Krisham Samriddhi Udyoy) of Agriculture department. Under the scheme, the farmers would be given various assistance.
