Agartala Jan 18: Change of power by uprooting the fascist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in Tripura is the need of the hour, said Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman.
The Tripura Pradesh Congress on Wednesday organized a massive bike rally that started from the Vivekananda Maidan in capital city and traversed various routes with huge number of activists and supporters.
Tripura Pradesh Congress in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar, AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Asish Kumar Saha, former PCC president Gopal Roy, TPCC Spokesperson and Media in-charge Prashanta Bhattacharjee among others led the mammoth bike rally.
Expressing satisfaction over vast gathering of activists and supporters Sudip Roy Barman gave the clarion call for uprooting the BJP from power in the ensuing polls.
He said, “After being tortured in numerous ways in these 5 years of BJP regime, youths have finally gathered enough courage and came out of their homes to join the fight against the ‘evil force’ that needs to be ousted from the soil of Tripura so that common masses can breathe peacefully”.
“The day’s bike-rally is to let the BJP know where they are standing in reality”, he added.
Meanwhile, TPCC in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar, on being asked about alliance with TPRA Motha in view of polls said, “We are urging all opposition like-minded political parties to join as a collective force so that BJP is not benefited in any possible way in the elections”.
However, Dr Kumar hinted that positive talks are on with TIPRA Motha and decision will be announced at the earliest.
AICC Secretary Szarita Laitphlang while taking to the reporters said, “Congress’ meetings, rallies and programs are to let the BJP see that protests, demands movements can be made peacefully and not violently”.
Szarita further urged the infamous ‘Bike-Bahini’ of BJP to come forward and join the Congress rally to form a peaceful government in the coming days.
On Wednesday, similar bike-rallies were held in all nine organizational districts of the Pradesh Congress.
