Agartala, Dec 13; The alumni of the Umakanta Academy school on Friday announced to observe the 162^nd foundation day of their school on December 15 next.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Alumni office on Friday, the members of the alumni said that a series of programmes are being planned to observe the foundation day. A colorful procession will be held on Sunday morning, which will move across the city. Former and present students of the school including the teachers and non teaching staff will participate in the rally, they said.

The alumni members further informed that a cultural programme followed by felicitation and prize distribution will be held on Sunday evening here in the auditorium of the Umakanta Academy.

A total of fifteen people will be awarded in the three categories of the already held "Sit and Draw" competition. The top three winners of the "Satyapriya Dasgupta" Essay Competition will be awarded on this occasion. Apart from this, alumni and teachers will be felicitated.
