Amarpur, Nov 05: Amarpur Sub-Divisional Hospital will commence providing cesarean section (C-section) services from next month said the Hospital authority after conducting a meeting at the hospital premises on Friday. The meeting was attended by Ranjit Das, MLA of Amarapur, Dr. Jagadish Riyang, the Chief Medical Officer of Gomati District, and all members of the Hospital's Patient Welfare Committee. After the meeting, the hospital authority informed the media that several essential facilities and equipment had already been set up in a designated room in the hospital, but due to the absence of a specialist, the service couldn't be initiated earlier. Recently, the State Health Department dispatched two medical professionals, a gynecologist, and an anaesthetist, to Amarapur Subdivisional Hospital following which the C-section services will be starting from next month. MLA, Das said, “Once this service is operational, it will likely relieve Amarapur, Korbook, and Ampi residents from the need to travel to other locations for maternity services. It will be a significant relief for people residing in these three subdivisions.” During the meeting, Dr. Prasenjit Sarkar, the Health Officer of Amarapur Subdivision, discussed various aspects of healthcare services at the hospital. He emphasized the importance of establishing all necessary infrastructure for the operation of C-section services promptly.
