Dharmanagar, July 26: The Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha on Friday visited Dharmanagar subdivision and chaired an organizational meeting with the party workers and supporters regarding the upcoming panchayat election.

Soon after reaching Dharmanagar, party president Ashish Kumar Saha went to Baruakandi area and visited the family members, who belong to the congress and were assaulted allegedly by the BJP goons. During his visit Ashish Kumar Saha alleged that soon after the declaration of panchayat election, the BJP goons started hatching terror tactics in various parts of the state to stop the opposition from contesting the election.

Later, he held a press conference and said that an organizational meeting will be held with the party workers of the panchayats of Kalacherra RD block under Baghbasa assembly constituency. He informed that separate meetings will be held at Kadamtala Bazar and Panisagar Bazar.

He alleged that the ruling party in the state has turned the panchayat election into a farce by physically and mentally torturing the candidates of the Congress party. He appealed for legal action against the BMS and ruling party goons who continued to torture the candidates in Dharmanagar.

North Tripura Congress Party President Advocate Ajit Das, State Congress Party Joint Secretary Advocate Indrajit Pal, senior Congress leader Kebal Nandi and others were present in this press conference.
