Assistant Returning Officer heads for Delhi with ballot box

Agartala July 19: Presidential election ballot box has been taken to the office of the Returning Officer in Delhi Parliament. Tuesday, the Assistant Returning Officer left for Delhi with the ballot box.
Voting for the country's new President took place on Monday. Along with the entire Country 57 MLAs out of 60 –seat Tripura assembly also voted in the lobby of the Tripura Assembly on Monday. Two MLAs had cast their votes in Delhi and 1 abstained from voting.
After the completion of voting process, the ballot box was kept in the strong room of the assembly under strict guard. On Tuesday, the Assistant Returning Officer took the ballot box and left for Delhi by air. He will deposit the box in the Parliament Returning Officer's office. Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura Kiran Gitte briefed the same to the media.
Counting of votes for the presidential election is on July 21.
