Agartala, Sept 22: As expected, BJP-nominated candidate Biplab Kumar Deb was elected as the MP to Rajya Sabha from Tripura on Thursday.
Deb, who defeated Left Front’s Bhanulal Saha with a huge margin, became the second BJP MP to Rajya Sabha from Tripura.

The only Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman boycotted the bye-election while Brishaketu Debbarma could not cast his vote since he was disqualified as an MLA a day before the election.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP Tripura president Rajib Bhattacharjee among other party leaders congratulated Deb for being elected as the MP Rajya Sabha.
Deb expressed his gratitude to the BJP-IPFT legislators for electing him.
