Belonia, Feb 17: With the initiative of Tripura's former Chief Minister and Parliamentarian, Biplab Kumar Deb, a pilgrimage yatra- ‘Maha Tirth Shaktipeeth Kamrup Kamakhya Darshan’ in Guwahati commenced from Belonia on Saturday morning.

A group of 35 pilgrims hailing from Belonia and Julaibari embarked on their journey via bus to offer puja at the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.

Commending the initiative, Gautam Sarkar, the local Mandal president, expressed gratitude to Biplab Deb for his role in facilitating the pilgrimage.

This initiative follows last year's December 28 pilgrimage, where 43 devotees from Bishalgarh and Amarpur embarked on a similar journey to the Kamakhya Mandir from Amarpur.

The pilgrims set out for Guwahati on Saturday morning, filled with joy and gratitude for the chance to behold Kamakhya Maa.
