Agartala August 01: Senior Tripura Pradesh Congress leader and former MLA Asish Kumar Saha on Monday said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party will be taught a tough lesson in the 2023 elections and for that Congress workers across the state need to play a crucial role.
Addressing the preparatory meeting of Block and District Congress Presidents at TB Association Hall, Saha said, “All of us have a bigger role to play; we are fighting to restore democracy in the state which calls for dedicated work from each and every Congress worker serving in different levels of the organization”.
He said the party as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra has announced a series of protest programs across the state where all block Congress and District Congress committees will take part.
“We have our protest program at Jirania, Mandai, Majlishpur and Khayerpur. These areas have been identified as the biggest contributors to the BJP’s terror squad. All the anti-social works sponsored by the ruling party are perpetuated by people of these areas. The Congress will give its clarion call of taking over the reins of the state from these areas”, said Saha. The senior Congress leader also lashed out at education minister Ratan Lal Nath. “Tripura had never seen an education minister so submerged in corruption. People of Mohanpur no longer have any attachment towards him and Congress is emerging as a suitable alternative”, said Saha. Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee President Birajit Sinha, Newly Elected Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and other senior leaders of the party remained present in the event.
