Agartala, Sept 26: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday asked the party Karyakartas to strengthen the organization at the booth level in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He was addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party Karyakartas of Chawmanu during a 'Jana Ashirwad Yatra' at local school ground in Dhalai district.
Dr. Saha welcomed 269 voters of Tipra Motha, Congress and CPM to Bharatiya Janata Party in the programme that registered presence of Janajati people in large numbers.
He said, they joined the BJP inspired by the 'Seva Hi Sangathan' mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also encouraged the new comers to work with full devotion to strengthen the organization.
He said, the people have now realized that without the BJP, the state's development is not possible and the voters who were previously affiliated with other opposition parties are now joining the BJP.
Dr. Saha further mentioned that PM Modi has redefined the politics. The Prime Minister believes in gaining public support through building cordial relations with the people and Tripura BJP is also working in the same direction.
He said, Tripura was plagued by poll violence; the CPI-M had suppressed the voice of democracy and ruled the state for 35 years. Besides, the Congress ruled the state for five years, following the same pattern.
However, in 2018, the people ended the communist misrule. After the BJP came to power, the democracy has been restored in the state, he mentioned and said that Tripura has set an instance of free, fair and violence-free election in 2023.
The Chief Minister also affirmed that his government is committed to the overall development of the state.
"In the past, divisive lines were drawn based on caste and ethnicity. The Communists only engaged in politics of division. But, BJP believes in development," he said.
The Chief Minister addressed another organizational programme at Manu Town Hall and addressed the Karyakartas of Karamcherra mandal.
MLA Shambhulal Chakma, former MLA Parimal Debbarma, Chawmanu mandal president Mohan Lal Chakma and other local BJP leaders were present.
