Boxanagar: Police-BSF Destroys Cannabis gardens

Boxanagar Oct 26: In a joint operation by police and BSF, around 40,000 cannabis saplings were destroyed in Panchnaliya, Bagbar area.
This year, cannabis farmers have planted a large number of saplings in various areas of Sonamura and Kalamchoura in government forest department and private areas.
Wednesday, from 11 am to 2 pm, raids were conducted for several hours in Panchnaliya area of Boxanagar Bagber.
A total of 40,000 cannabis plants in 8 gardens were destroyed in an area of about 13 hectares of Boxanagar Forest Department in 4 plots.
The administration officials said that the market value of the crop is about one crore rupees.
The secret information of the illegal marijuana cultivation came to Kalamchoura police station OC Bishnupad Bhowmik and senior officer of BSF 150 battalion Vinod Dev Rani.
However, it is known that these ganja gardens were under the supervision of Boxanagar forest department.
Huge ganja is cultivated. Lakhs of money are taken away from ganja growers. Police said such operations will continue in the coming days.
