Brick kiln workers ‘assaulted’, enter court demanding justice

Boxanagar, Feb 25: In a shocking incident, a group of brick kiln workers on Tuesday entered the Bishalgarh court premises seeking justice.
The workers alleged that they were assaulted by the brick kiln owner after demanding pending wages on Tuesday morning.
The workers from the brick kiln- HBI of Putia, as they said, first knocked the door of police station but they didn’t get a proper response. After that, they straightway walked towards the Bishalgarh court. In the court premises, they started demanding justice.
Speaking to the media, a section of workers accused Selim Miah, Manir Hossain and a police constable of assaulting them.
When the workers reached the court premises, a large contingent of police and TSR personnel arrived at the scene and reportedly resorted to lathi-charge. In such a situation, the workers took shelter in the courtroom.
They alleged that the police didn’t take any action against the brick kiln owner- Humayun Kabir, who is Pradhan of Putia village, his partner Selim Miah and Manir Hossain.
