BSF ADG reviews security scenario in Tripura

Sonamura, Dec 19: ADG of Border Security Force, HQ Eastern Command, Kolkata- Ravi Gandhi has reviewed the prevailing security scenario and operational preparedness in Tripura.
He along with senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), state police, and administration held a high-level meeting on Wednesday at the NC Nagar Border Outpost (BOP) in Sonamura to discuss border security and related issues on Wednesday.
The meeting took place in the backdrop of increasing vigilance along the India-Bangladesh border.
Following the meeting, the BSF ADG, HQ Eastern Command, Kolkata, addressed the media, stating, there are no significant issues along the border.
He said, the BSF maintains excellent coordination with the state administration and police, and joint patrolling is being carried out effectively. Additionally, cordial relations with Bangladeshi border guards are being maintained.
This meeting gains importance as Tripura prepares to host the North East Council Development Meeting in Agartala, which will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
With Tripura sharing a long border with Bangladesh—a country currently facing internal instability—India remains vigilant. Reports of anti-India sentiments being propagated by certain fundamentalist groups and political factions in Bangladesh have further emphasizesd the need for heightened border security.
Along with the ADG BSF, Tripura Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, DGP Amitabh Ranjan, IG BSF Tripura Frontier A.K. Shatma, Sepahijala District Magistrate Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal, SP DJ Reddy, commandant of 81-Bn BSF Rakesh Sinha and other officials were present.
